Restoring and replacing with cost and savings always in mind.

When this Manhattan Upper East Side building’s old steam absorption chiller kept breaking down, L+M Energy recommended its replacement with a new electric modular chiller. We did so as part of the LL87 report for this 17-story, 53-unit cooperative that opened in 1963.

Instead of suggesting a replacement in kind, we proposed a modular chiller for its energy and cost savings as well as the redundancy. L+M oversaw the design and construction process and after reviewing the data a year later found that the luxury building had saved an estimated 42% on cooling costs compared to the previous two years.
